Soaring Beside Our Children with Dignity and Determination
Join us online September 30 – October 2, 2021.
For Indigenous parents, families, and communities, caring for children is a sacred responsibility. With heightened awareness of the critical importance of safe and culturally rich early learning and child care and the spotlight on Truth and Reconciliation, this year our conference theme focuses on now, being a time of action.
We have an opportunity to make real progress in determining the future of Indigenous early learning. We have a real chance to progress in our bid to self-govern and self-determine the needs of our children, families, and communities. We have renewed determination to re-assert traditional ways of caring for our children and strengthen their futures. We acknowledge that the Creator has given Indigenous Peoples the right and responsibility to initiate, design, and control programs and services for our children. We accept these rights and responsibilities and believe that by working and learning together we support child care programs to reflect the Laws of the Creator, our traditions, beliefs, and values.
Due to the pandemic, the Fall 2021 BCACCS Provincial Training Conference is being held virtually. We look forward to a time when we can once again meet in person, but to ensure the health and safety of participants and staff we have opted to continue with an online experience for the upcoming event.
Workshops will focus on:
• Taking action to support self-determination of needs
• Promoting dignity and well-being;
• Engaging in cultural activities; and
• Sharing strategies that support leadership and change
The cost for the Fall conference is $40.00 per day.
Registration is now open. The last day to sign up is September 20 so that we are able to send out delegate packages to reach participants on time.
BCACCS is hosting a raffle during our conference.
In the spirit of healing, the proceeds for the raffle will go to the Indigenous Residential School Survivor Society and Indigenous Child Care Programs impacted by the 2021 wildfires in BC.
There will be two draws:

You can purchase raffle tickets for the earrings or watch or both. You do not need to be present during the draw to win. Tickets can be purchased up to 3:00pm October 2, 2021.
