Become a Member

BCACCS is committed to creating and supporting Indigenous child care services that are responsive to the needs of communities and families and that ensure children develop fully as First Nations with a distinct culture, history, and language. You can help support this mission by becoming a member. Anyone borrowing items from our Resource Centre Lending Library is required to get a membership. Please fill out the form below. Once you have been contacted to confirm your membership number please pay online below.

Types of Memberships

Student membership is *$15.00/year and is for:

  • Students enrolled in an early childhood education or child care related program
*Note: does not include a CCCF membership

Individual membership is $45.00/year and is for:

  • Early childhood educators (ECE’s) who are Indigenous and/or who work with Indigenous children
  • Other people working in early childhood development (ECD) programs
  • Parents and grandparents of Indigenous children (including adoptive and foster)
  • Elders and Knowledge Keepers
  • Researchers, policy analysts, and administrators in Indigenous early learning and child care

Centre Membership is $100.00/year and includes:

  • Child care centers
  • IDP/AIDP & host agencies
  • SCDP/ASCDP & host agencies
  • other ECE or ECD programs including but not limited to First Nations Head Start Programs, both on and off reserve
  • other ECD and early intervention service providers
  • Bands and Tribal Councils or AHRDA holders
Note: Covers maximum 5 people per site.

Associate Membership is $200.00/year and includes:

All individuals or groups that do not fit in the above categories but who have an interest in the mission of our Society and wish to join.

Membership Fees

BCACCS membership is available upon completion of an application form and payment of an annual membership fee.

  • Student membership $15.00/year
  • Individual membership $45.00/year
  • Centre membership $100.00/year
  • Associate membership $200.00/year

Benefits of BCACCS Membership

BCACCS provides members with a provincial forum to network and share ideas regarding Aboriginal child care and child development issues. Direct benefits and privileges of membership include:

  • Subscription to the Society’s quarterly newsletter Caring for Our Children
  • Resource Library borrowing privileges, with access to more than 900 child-focused books, articles and videos, as well as BCACCS ECE curriculum boxes (including Moe the Mouse®)
  • A discounted rate on BCACCS publications
  • A discounted rate on registration for the BCACCS Annual Provincial Training Conference
  • The ability to participate and vote on the business of the Society
  • *Membership with the Canadian Child Care Federation (CCCF) which includes receipt of their quarterly magazine, Interaction
  • A voice in a professional Aboriginal organization dedicated to quality child care
