BCACCS Conference

Every year we offer workshops that encourage early childhood educators and support staff to share knowledge, skills, and stories that will help them design and deliver programs and services immersed in our cultures. Our conference is focused on Indigenous ways of knowing and being, but registration is open to all people working in the field of early learning and child care.

BCACCS Annual Provincial Spring Conference
We Are One: Holding Each Other Up
February 8 – 10, 2024
In-person and Online (Hybrid Delivery)

Dear Community,

We are disappointed to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to deliver the BCACCS Annual Fall Conference in a fully online format this September due to the continued strike at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. This was such a difficult decision as we know so many communities made special plans to join us in person.

The Annual Fall Conference will now take place online on the 28th & 29th of September but we will not hold the conference on September 30th, so that people can spend the day in their own communities and with their families. In addition we will be hosting a further training for those interested in workshops on leadership and management. It will be a full day online training taking place on October 6, 2023.

We are happy to announce that although we will not be able to see you in person in September, we have been able to secure February 8th – 10th at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel for our Provincial Spring Conference and hope you will join us then either in person or online.

Both of our conferences this year will focus on creating spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and learning, where participants can explore innovative strategies, wise practices, and research findings related to capacity enhancement. Together we hope to explore the ways in which we lift each other up in our work and in our pursuit of helping every Indigenous child to reach their full potential.

Please keep an eye out for the opening for the fall conference registration (as well as the October 6th event) early next week.

Thank you so much for your understanding under these challenging circumstances.

Warmly,

Kirsten Bevelander (she/her)

Co-Manager, Aboriginal Child Care Resource and Referral Program
