Summer plays an important part in teaching and learning about the land and traditional foods. The BCACCS Resource Centre has many helpful resources. Take a look at Wild Berries by Julie Flett; translated by Earl N. Cook. Clarence and his grandmother spend the day picking wild blueberries and meet ant, spider, and fox along the way. This book is written in Swampy Cree and English, and also includes a recipe for blueberry jam.
