News: Child welfare ruling ‘another heartbreak’ for Indigenous people ineligible for compensation, B.C. chief says

When Grand Chief Stewart Phillip heard that the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal had ruled in favour of First Nations children who had suffered discrimination in Canada’s child welfare system, he thought it was “great news.” However, he was “heartbroken” for the many people who are ineligible for the compensation — including himself.
