This grant is intended to support First Nations early learning and child care priorities. Each First Nation in B.C. is eligible to receive a minimum grant of $73,500 with additional funding for Nations with a population of 363 people and above. The ministry has worked with the BC Aboriginal ChildCare Society to develop an approach to distribute this funding to First Nations, in alignment with direction and recommendations from First Nations Leadership Council.
No application or proposal is required to receive this funding, however, the funding must be accepted via email from each First Nation by March 22, 2023, and spent by March 31, 2025.
