On National Child Day (World Children’s Day) Nov. 20 Watch “For Love” and Support BCACCS Preschools

November 20, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

You are invited to attend a special International Children’s Day screening (and Vancouver Theatrical Premiere!) of the documentary film “For Love” at the Rio Theatre.
Part of the filmmaking team, producer/writer Mary Teegee and director/producer Matt Smiley, will be participating in a live Q&A following the film.
Narrated by Shania Twain, FOR LOVE is a film of resilience and resurgence. Travelling across the country, Indigenous people tell their heartbreaking stories to reveal the atrocities inflicted by the Canadian child welfare system. The film shines a light on what is happening right now. It details the horrors of the past and reveals how Indigenous communities are taking back jurisdictional control of their children in order to ensure that their unique and diverse cultures are preserved for generations to come.
Dr. Cindy Blackstock will also be present for this event and the special premiere of the Spirit Bear music video.
Screening Saturday, November 20 at 2:30 pm.
Partial proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the BCACCS Aboriginal Head Start Singing Frog and Eagle’s Nest preschools.
