We have exciting new language resource to share with you. The Okanagan Nation Alliance has created a collection of bilingual children’s books that are adaptations of Syilx oral traditions. These oral traditions are known as captikwł.

This set of children’s books was translated by Sʕamtíc̓aʔ (Sarah Peterson) whith the intention of language revitalization. Texts are in nsyilxcan with English translations.

How Coyote Broke the Salmon Dam is a story that gives readers an understanding of the living land and how to connect with it.

Recordings of these stories in nsyilxcən can be found here.
