BCACCS recently sent a letter to the First Nations Leadership Council (FNLC) thanking them for their work so far and requesting the FNLC to advocate before the Provincial Health Officer and Chief Medical Officer of the First Nations Health Authority for the closure of all First Nations early learning and childcare programs, as part of a holistic and coordinated strategy to keep our most vulnerable citizens safe.

We were very encouraged to receive a response so quickly. FNLC acknowledges our concerns. They recognize "It is critically important during this time that all measures are being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities and to protect our most vulnerable members and citizens. We recognize the delicate balance between choosing to keep these centers open or calling for their closure."
