The Best Start in Life: What Youth Need to Know about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) program is available to help you. FASD refers to the spectrum of conditions that affect a baby when its mother drinks while pregnant. We produced this video and program to enable youth across Canada to facilitate a one-hour presentation in schools and communities so there would be greater awareness and understanding about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
ABOUT THE VIDEO
The video is suitatable for ages 12 and up, featuring messages from a doctor, nurse, Elder, a mother with children affected by FASD, and several youth. It also tells a true-to-life drama about Susan, a young woman who is pregnant.
Use the video and facilitator’s toolkit to host information sessions, or to prepare youth to deliver these sessions.
