Take the Child Development Quiz...

  • How well do you understand the stages of child development?
  • It's fun and informative!
  • There are twelve true or false questions.
  • The quiz will take less than five minutes to complete.
  • Each question was developed by a group of child development experts who agreed on the answers.

How was this quiz developed?

  • This quiz is based on a research survey developed by Invest in Kids, a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting early childhood development. Researchers wanted to know what typical parents know about child development.
  • In 1999 Invest in Kids surveyed 1643 Canadian parents with at least one child under age six. Of these, 700 were married fathers, 700 were married mothers and 243 were single mothers. Respondents represented woMay 5, 2008 11:07 AMd experienced parents and younger and older parents.
  • 92% of the respondents strongly agreed that “Being a parent is the most important thing I can do.”
  • 94% agreed that they “enjoy being a parent most of the time.”
  • When you take our quiz you will find out how the parents in the survey answered the questions. The results might surprise you.

Why should you take the quiz?

  • It’s fun!
  • You will learn some very important facts about child development.
  • Although some Aboriginal parents took the survey, there were not enough responses to draw conclusions. Knowing about what Aboriginal people know helps Invest in Kids and the BC Aboriginal Child Care Society develop programs that can celebrate and/or boost parents’ knowledge.
